1. Claim l’item

Note importante :

RSI Constellation Andromeda Standalone Ship Gameplay Guide

The RSI Constellation Andromeda is a multi-role gunship and freighter built for Star Citizen players who want heavy pilot firepower, useful cargo capacity, multi-crew gameplay, and a docked snub fighter in one classic RSI package. Designed by Roberts Space Industries, the Andromeda is not a pure cargo hauler like the Taurus and not a dedicated explorer like the Aquila. It is the combat-balanced Constellation variant for players who want a ship that can haul, fight, travel, and support a small crew.

Unlike many medium and large ships that specialize in only one job, the Constellation Andromeda gives players a practical mix: cargo utility, heavy forward weapons, manned turret support, missile pressure, and a P-52 Merlin snub fighter docked at the rear. RSI’s Constellation lineup material describes the Andromeda as the standard Constellation model for a team of friends and notes that it includes a P-52 Merlin snub fighter.

The safest product-page positioning is simple: the Andromeda is the Constellation you choose when you want a balanced mix of combat, cargo, crew gameplay, and snub-fighter utility.

Build Your RSI Multi-Role Fleet with the Constellation Andromeda

The Constellation Andromeda remains one of the more recognizable multi-role ships in Star Citizen. If you are looking to acquire this RSI gunship-freighter, you can explore our available options in the Star Citizen Ships and Vehicles Collection.

Missile Identity Missile pressure reference Adds burst pressure and combat confidence, but missile counts and effectiveness may change with balance updates.
Snub Fighter P-52 Merlin docked at the rear Gives the ship a local scout / support fighter option.
Core Gameplay Cargo, bounty support, escort, multi-crew missions, snub deployment Best for players who want one ship that can handle many normal gameplay loops.

Note: Star Citizen ship specifications may change during future patches and balance updates. For product pages, exact weapons, components, cargo behavior, snub docking behavior, missile behavior, vehicle fit, and performance should be treated as gameplay-reference information rather than permanent final values.

What Makes the Constellation Andromeda Valuable?

The Constellation Andromeda is valuable because it gives players a well-rounded ship without moving into heavy-hauler or capital-ship complexity. It can haul cargo, fight, carry a crew, support a snub fighter, and handle many mission types without needing a highly specialized fleet.

Its main appeal is balance. The Taurus carries more cargo. The Aquila leans more toward exploration. The Phoenix focuses on luxury. The Andromeda sits in the middle as the classic all-rounder with the clearest combat identity in the standard Constellation family.

For players who want one ship to do a little of everything, the Andromeda is easy to understand. It has enough cargo to matter, enough guns to feel dangerous, enough crew roles to support friends, and enough RSI personality to feel like a dependable long-term ship.

Multi-Role Gunship Gameplay Role

The Andromeda’s main role is multi-role combat utility. It is not just a cargo ship with weapons, and it is not just a gunship with cargo. It works best when the player wants flexibility.

In practical gameplay, the Andromeda fits several roles:

Gameplay Use Why the Andromeda Fits
Bounty hunting Forward weapons and missile pressure help against tougher targets.
Cargo runs 96 SCU gives useful freight capacity without becoming a pure hauler.
Escort missions Turrets, missiles, and pilot guns make it useful for protecting other ships.
Small-crew missions Pilot, turret operators, co-pilot, and Merlin pilot all have clear roles.
Vehicle-supported missions Cargo bay utility can support ground-mission planning, depending on vehicle fit and current patch behavior.
Daily large-ship use More flexible than many specialized ships.

The Andromeda should be described as a multi-role gunship-freighter. That wording is more accurate than calling it only a hauler or only a combat ship.

Firepower and Combat Feel

The Constellation Andromeda is one of the more useful choices for players who want heavy pilot-controlled firepower in a multi-role ship. Its combat identity comes from forward pressure, turret support, and missile threat rather than light-fighter agility.

This makes the Andromeda appealing for PvE combat, bounties, escort work, and dangerous travel. It can punish larger targets and force smaller attackers to respect its forward arc.

That said, the Andromeda should not be sold as a pure dogfighter. It is a large ship. It does not fly like a Gladius, Hornet, or Guardian. Its combat style is about positioning, forward pressure, turret coverage, and missile timing, not tight light-fighter turns.

The Andromeda is the Constellation variant for players who want heavy firepower without giving up cargo and crew utility.

Cargo and Vehicle Utility

The Andromeda’s 96 SCU cargo capacity gives it useful value outside combat. It can support cargo trading, mission supplies, loot, delivery work, FPS gear, and small organization logistics.

This makes the Andromeda more practical than many pure combat ships. A Vanguard, Guardian, or Hornet may be better for direct fighter combat, but the Andromeda gives players more ways to use the ship between fights.

The important customer expectation is that the Andromeda is not the cargo-focused Constellation. The Taurus is the better choice if cargo profit is the main goal. The Andromeda is better when cargo is only one part of the ship’s value.

The Andromeda can support cargo and some vehicle-based missions, but exact vehicle fit and cargo behavior should be treated as current gameplay reference.

P-52 Merlin Snub Fighter Utility

One of the Andromeda’s most iconic features is the docked P-52 Merlin. RSI’s Constellation lineup material states that the Andromeda includes a P-52 Merlin snub fighter.

The Merlin gives the Andromeda an extra layer of gameplay. It can be used for local scouting, short-range response, distraction, and local combat support. It is not a full independent fighter because it has no normal long-range role, but it adds personality and tactical options.

The Andromeda includes a P-52 Merlin snub fighter for local support, but the Merlin should be understood as short-range utility rather than a replacement for a full fighter.

Solo and Multi-Crew Gameplay

The Andromeda can be flown solo, and many players use it that way. A solo pilot still has forward weapons, cargo space, and general mission utility. However, the ship becomes much better when crewed.

A practical Andromeda session usually feels best when the pilot treats the ship like a multi-role gunship, not a light fighter. The pilot should keep the nose pointed toward the target when using forward firepower, while turret operators cover side, top, and lower angles that the pilot cannot hold. If the Merlin is launched, it works best as local support, distraction, or short-range scouting rather than a full independent fighter. When the ship is carrying cargo, supplies, or a ground vehicle, the crew should plan landing and extraction carefully because the Andromeda is valuable enough to attract attention and large enough to become exposed if it stays too long. In real use, the Andromeda works best when the crew uses all parts of the ship together: guns, missiles, turrets, cargo bay, and Merlin support.

A practical Andromeda crew may include:

Crew Role Purpose
Pilot Controls flight, positioning, forward weapons, and main engagement decisions.
Co-Pilot Supports shields, scanning, navigation, and mission awareness.
Top Turret Gunner Adds coverage and pressure against targets outside the pilot’s firing line.
Bottom Turret Gunner Helps defend lower angles and improves multi-target control.
Merlin Pilot Launches the snub for scouting, distraction, or local combat support.

Andromeda vs Other Constellation Variants

Variant Best For Main Difference
Constellation Andromeda Balanced combat, cargo, crew, and snub gameplay Best all-rounder with the clearest combat identity.
Constellation Taurus Cargo and practical freight value More cargo-focused Constellation, better for hauling and profit-oriented utility.
Constellation Aquila Exploration and scanning identity More exploration-focused, with explorer styling and vehicle support.
Constellation Phoenix Luxury transport and VIP ownership More luxury-focused, with premium interior and luxury ownership appeal.

For most customers, the Andromeda is the easier recommendation when they want one Constellation that can do many things while still feeling combat-ready.

Constellation Andromeda vs Other Star Citizen Ships

Ship Fleet Option Primary Core Role Compared with Constellation Andromeda
Constellation Taurus Cargo / Multi-Role The Taurus is better for cargo profit. The Andromeda is better for combat, missiles, turret gameplay, and snub utility.
Drake Corsair Exploration Gunship The Corsair has stronger aggressive exploration flavor and heavy firepower. The Andromeda feels more balanced and traditional.
Mercury Star Runner Courier / Data Runner The Mercury is faster-feeling and better for courier identity. The Andromeda is better for combat and multi-crew firepower.
400i Luxury Pathfinder The 400i is more refined and comfortable. The Andromeda is more practical and combat-capable.
Starlancer MAX Long-Range Cargo The Starlancer MAX carries more cargo and feels more modern as a freighter. The Andromeda is stronger for combat and snub support.
C1 Spirit Medium Cargo / Daily Utility The C1 is easier and cleaner for daily cargo. The Andromeda is larger, stronger, and better for multi-role combat.
Vanguard Warden Long-Range Heavy Fighter The Warden is better for fighter combat. The Andromeda is better for cargo, crew, missiles, and general multi-role ownership.

Constellation Andromeda vs Constellation Taurus

The Constellation Taurus is better for players who want more cargo value and a simpler freight-focused Constellation. The Andromeda is better for players who want stronger combat identity, missile pressure, turret gameplay, and the P-52 Merlin snub fighter. Choose the Taurus if your main goal is cargo profit and practical hauling. Choose the Andromeda if you want a more balanced Constellation with combat, cargo, crew roles, and snub utility.

Constellation Andromeda vs Drake Corsair

The Drake Corsair is better for players who want heavier forward firepower, rugged Drake personality, and a more aggressive expedition style. The Constellation Andromeda is better for players who want a more traditional RSI multi-role ship with cargo, missiles, turrets, and Merlin support. Choose the Corsair if you want a rougher combat-adventure ship. Choose the Andromeda if you want a classic multi-role gunship-freighter.

Constellation Andromeda vs Mercury Star Runner

The Mercury Star Runner is better for courier work, cargo/data identity, cleaner Crusader design, and escape-focused transport. The Constellation Andromeda is better for combat pressure, missiles, turret gameplay, and snub-fighter utility. Choose the Mercury if your priority is fast courier gameplay and cargo movement. Choose the Andromeda if you want a more combat-ready multi-role ship.

Constellation Andromeda Strengths and Limitations

Strategic Strengths Operational Limitations
Heavy pilot-controlled firepower for a multi-role ship. Less agile than smaller fighters and medium ships.
96 SCU cargo gives useful trading and mission utility. Not as cargo-efficient as the Taurus or larger haulers.
Two manned turrets give crew members real combat roles. Solo pilots do not fully use turret coverage.
P-52 Merlin adds snub-fighter personality and local support. Merlin utility depends on short-range use and docking behavior.
Missile pressure adds burst threat and combat confidence. Missiles and combat balance may change across patches.
Useful all-rounder for small groups and solo owners with friends. Older interior and handling may feel less modern than newer ships.

Who Should Buy the Constellation Andromeda?

The Constellation Andromeda is best for players who want a classic RSI multi-role ship with heavy firepower, useful cargo, crew gameplay, and a docked snub fighter. It is especially suitable for bounty hunters, cargo players who also want combat, small crews, escort pilots, multi-role players, and anyone who wants a ship that feels like a dependable “main ship.”

It is also a good choice for players who are unsure whether they want cargo, combat, or general missions. The Andromeda gives enough of each role to stay useful across many gameplay loops.

Players who mainly want cargo profit should choose the Taurus, Starlancer MAX, C2 Hercules, or Hull C. Players who want luxury should choose the Phoenix, 400i, or 600i. Players who want stronger fighter combat should choose the Vanguard, Guardian, or dedicated fighters. But for players who want one flexible RSI ship with guns, cargo, crew roles, and a Merlin, the Constellation Andromeda remains one of Star Citizen’s more reliable long-term picks.

Constellation Andromeda FAQ

Is the Constellation Andromeda worth buying in Star Citizen?

The Constellation Andromeda is worth buying if you want a useful all-rounder with cargo, firepower, missiles, turret gameplay, and a P-52 Merlin snub fighter. It is not the best ship in one single category, but it is one of the more practical multi-role ships for players who want flexibility.

Is the Constellation Andromeda Flight Ready?

Yes. The Andromeda is a long-established Flight Ready ship. For a product page, the safest wording is Flight Ready / current gameplay reference, while still noting that weapons, cargo behavior, snub docking, and specifications may change.

What is the main role of the Constellation Andromeda?

The Andromeda’s main role is multi-role gunship and light freight gameplay. It can haul cargo, fight, carry a small crew, support missions, and deploy a P-52 Merlin for local utility.

How much cargo does the Andromeda have?

The Constellation Andromeda has 96 SCU cargo capacity as a current reference value. This is useful for trade, supplies, mission cargo, and support logistics, but it is less cargo-focused than the Constellation Taurus.

Is the Andromeda good for combat?

Yes. The Andromeda is useful for a multi-role ship because it has heavy forward weapons, manned turret support, and missile pressure. It is not a light fighter, but it can apply heavy pressure when positioned well.

Is the Andromeda good for cargo?

Is the Andromeda better than the Taurus?

The Andromeda is better for combat, missiles, turret gameplay, and snub-fighter utility. The Taurus is better for cargo and profit hauling. Choose the Andromeda for balanced multi-role combat. Choose the Taurus for freight value.

Should I choose the Constellation Andromeda or Taurus?

Choose the Constellation Andromeda if you want the more combat-ready Constellation with missiles, turret gameplay, crew value, and the P-52 Merlin snub fighter. The Andromeda is the better balanced gunship-freighter, while the Taurus is the better cargo-focused Constellation.

Is the Andromeda better than the Corsair?

The Corsair is stronger for rugged exploration and aggressive Drake firepower. The Andromeda is more traditional, more balanced, and includes the Merlin snub fighter. Choose Corsair for Drake adventure style. Choose Andromeda for classic RSI multi-role gameplay.

Is the Andromeda better than the Mercury Star Runner?

The Andromeda is better for combat and multi-crew firepower. The Mercury Star Runner is better for courier style, data-running identity, and cargo movement with a cleaner Crusader feel. They serve different player fantasies.

Can the Andromeda carry vehicles?

The Andromeda can support some vehicle-based missions depending on current gameplay behavior, vehicle size, and cargo bay fit. For product pages, it is safest to describe this as current gameplay utility and remind buyers that exact vehicle fit and cargo behavior may change.

Does the Andromeda have good long-term value?

Yes, the Constellation Andromeda has useful long-term value because its role is broad and easy to understand. Cargo, combat, crew gameplay, missiles, and snub support all give it reasons to stay useful across many gameplay loops. It remains one of the more reliable RSI ships for players who want one dependable multi-role platform.
