MISC Endeavor Standalone Ship Gameplay Guide

The MISC Endeavor is a capital-class modular science platform built for Star Citizen players who want research gameplay, medical support, agriculture, deep-space observation, and one of the more flexible non-combat concepts in the game. Designed by Musashi Industrial and Starflight Concern, the Endeavor is not a cargo hauler, gunship, daily driver, or traditional explorer. It is a large modular workshop platform made for players who want to build a specialized support ship around science, medicine, farming, observation, or long-term organization utility.

Unlike ships such as the Carrack, Galaxy, Apollo, or Crucible, the Endeavor is not locked into one simple identity. Its core value comes from its modular pod system. Official RSI material describes the Endeavor as a fully modular space platform that can be adapted for scientific and medical tasks, from spatial telescopy to a mobile hospital.

The Endeavor is a long-term modular science and support pledge for players who want future non-combat career gameplay, not a current everyday ship.

Build Your MISC Science Fleet with the Endeavor

The Endeavor is one of the more ambitious MISC concepts for players who want non-combat professions and organization support. If you are looking to acquire this modular science vessel, you can explore our available options in the Star Citizen Ships and Vehicles Collection.

Note: The Endeavor is still a concept-stage / in-development ship. Final modules, science mechanics, medical systems, farming gameplay, docking, cargo behavior, crew needs, loaners, and balance may change before release.

What Makes the Endeavor Valuable?

The Endeavor is valuable because it is not just one ship role. It is a modular platform that can become different kinds of support ship depending on its pods. A player might build it as a mobile hospital, science lab, farming platform, telescope observatory, or long-range research station.

Its main appeal is career flexibility. While many ships focus on combat or cargo, the Endeavor is built around future non-combat professions. RSI’s original Endeavor material positioned the ship as a flagship for deeper non-combat gameplay in Star Citizen’s persistent universe.

For players who want a long-term organization asset, the Endeavor is appealing because it can support future roles that normal ships do not cover. A combat fleet needs repair, medical, logistics, and support. An exploration group needs research and analysis. A large organization may want hospital services, farming output, observation data, or science-based progression. The Endeavor is built for those future support layers.

Modular Science Gameplay Role

The Endeavor’s main role is modular science and support. Its workshop section uses a 3×2 grid of six attach-points, allowing different pods to be installed depending on the owner’s intended gameplay. RSI describes the system as a plug-and-play grid where modules usually install in balanced pairs to preserve the ship’s thruster design.

In long-term gameplay planning, the Endeavor can support several roles:

Gameplay Use Why the Endeavor Fits
Medical support Medical Bay + Landing Bay can turn it into a hospital-style platform.
Research operations General Research and Science Pods support scientific study and data analysis.
Telescope observation Telescope Array turns it into a mobile observatory for deep-space data.
Agriculture Biodome Pods support growing valuable crops and foodstuffs.
Component overclocking Supercollider concept supports high-end component tuning.
Organization support Large modular layout makes it useful as a service platform for groups.

The Endeavor should not be described as a simple explorer. It is better described as a modular science platform.

Major Endeavor Module Types

The Endeavor’s module system is the heart of the ship. These are the most important module concepts for product-page explanation:

Module Main Purpose Product-Page Meaning
Medical Bay Hospital-style treatment and recovery Turns the Endeavor into a large medical support platform.
Landing Bay Small-craft landing and patient transfer Works especially well with the Medical Bay for ambulance-style operations.
Biodome Space farming and agriculture Supports crop growth and agriculture-based economy gameplay.
Telescope Array Deep-space observation Generates observation data and supports exploration/science loops.
Supercollider Component tuning / overclocking Supports advanced equipment optimization gameplay.
General Research Pod Active scientific research Supports experiments, specimen work, and specialized research.
General Science Pod Data processing and analysis Helps turn gathered data into useful or tradable information.
Fuel Pod / Cargo Pod Extra fuel or consumables Supports longer missions and resource storage.
Service Equipment and Crew Pod Additional crew facilities Helps the workshop operate for longer missions.

Official Endeavor material also notes that the Master Set includes one of each available module, but it cannot launch with all included modules active at the same time.

Medical Bay and Hope-Class Gameplay

The Endeavor’s medical setup is one of its main long-term selling points. The Hope-class Endeavor comes with a Medical Bay and Landing Bay, turning the ship into a hospital-style support vessel. RSI describes the Medical Bay Pod as a large set of attached rooms functioning like a standing hospital, complete with operating theaters and recovery rooms.

In older RSI medical design discussion, Hope-class Endeavors were described as field hospitals that could support urgent treatment, medical reputation, rescue missions, and respawn-service concepts.

The Endeavor can become one of Star Citizen’s larger medical-platform concepts through its Hope-class medical configuration, but exact bed behavior, respawn rules, and medical systems may change before final release.

Farming and Biodome Gameplay

The Biodome module gives the Endeavor one of the more unusual career identities in Star Citizen: space-based agriculture. RSI describes the Biodome Pods as supporting ongoing agriculture operations, adapting and growing foodstuffs that can be sold for profit.

RSI’s later Endeavor Q&A explains why mobile farming could matter: players may be able to acquire seeds and materials where they are cheap, grow crops while traveling, and deliver perishable or high-value products to the right marketplace.

The Endeavor’s Biodome setup is for players who want farming to become a space-based business, not just a background decoration.

Telescope and Research Gameplay

The Telescope Array turns the Endeavor into a mobile observatory. RSI describes it as a high-end stellar observatory capable of gathering data from deep space, useful for navigation studies, jump point discovery, and resale on the open market.

This gives the Endeavor a different exploration identity from the Carrack. The Carrack is built to go into danger and return. The Endeavor is better understood as a science station that can analyze, observe, and process information.

RSI’s Endeavor Q&A makes this distinction directly: the Carrack is a dedicated self-sustaining explorer, while the Endeavor’s Explorer cab is more of an add-on and does not match the Carrack’s full-range exploration capability.

Explorer Cab and Detachable Design

The Endeavor has a detachable Explorer cab, which can separate from the workshop section for dangerous operations. RSI describes the cab as armored and shielded enough to operate in risky conditions while the workshop remains safer.

However, the Explorer cab should not be sold like a full standalone explorer. RSI’s Q&A says the Explorer cab does not have a jump drive slot, because it uses its space for armor and shielding rather than full independent exploration capability.

The Explorer cab adds flexibility and safety, but the Endeavor is still a modular science platform first, not a Carrack replacement.

Landing Bay Utility

The Endeavor’s Landing Bay module can support small craft and patient transfer. RSI’s Q&A gives the landing bay size as roughly 30m wide, 65m deep, and 10m tall, with the ability to support up to four craft depending on size and system limits. RSI later clarified the landing bay concept as a spacious 30m × 60m × 10m volume, intended to safely store, transport, launch, and refit up to four ships that fit inside the available space.

The Endeavor’s Landing Bay gives it small-craft support value, especially with medical operations, but it should not be marketed as a dedicated carrier.

Solo and Multi-Crew Gameplay

The Endeavor may be movable by a single player, but it should not be sold as a solo-efficient ship. RSI’s Q&A says a solo Endeavor would likely need to stop and start when conducting scientific operations, while a crewed Endeavor could scan, treat patients, overclock equipment, or operate other systems while another player flies.

A practical Endeavor crew may include:

Crew Role Purpose
Captain / Pilot Handles flight, positioning, docking, and mission planning.
Science Operator Runs research pods, analysis systems, and scientific tasks.
Medical Officer Manages hospital operations if using Medical Bay modules.
Agriculture Operator Maintains Biodomes, crops, and farming workflow.
Engineer Maintains power, engines, and workshop systems.
Landing Bay Operator Manages patient transfer, small craft, and hangar workflow.
Security / Escort Crew Protects the Endeavor while operating in risky areas.

A practical Endeavor operation should start with module planning before the ship ever leaves port. The owner needs to decide whether the ship is being used as a hospital, research station, farming platform, telescope observatory, or mixed support asset. A Hope-class medical setup may need patient transfer, landing bay coordination, medical staff, and a safe operating area. A Biodome setup would need crop planning, supply management, travel timing, and market awareness. A Telescope or Research setup should feel more like a data operation than a normal exploration trip. In real use, the Endeavor should be treated as a large support platform: choose the modules, position the ship safely, assign crew roles, manage supplies, protect the platform, and let smaller ships handle risky travel or pickup work.

This makes the Endeavor much better for organizations and long-term support players than casual solo owners.

Current Loaner Note

Because the Endeavor is not currently available as a normal PU ship, RSI’s Loaner Ship Matrix lists the Starfarer and Cutlass Red as the current loaners. The same RSI page explains that loaners are provided for ships not yet available in the PU until they become Flight Ready, and that loaners are not permanent additions to the fleet.

Current loaners can change, so buyers should always check the latest RSI Loaner Ship Matrix before purchasing.

Current loaners give owners something usable while waiting. Loaners are temporary and may change.

Who Should Buy the Endeavor?

The Endeavor is best for players who want a long-term modular science and support ship. It is especially suitable for organizations, medical-role players, research-focused players, farming players, science roleplay groups, hospital-service groups, and fleet planners who want a large non-combat support asset.

It is also a good choice for players who already own practical ships and want something more ambitious. The Endeavor is not a ship you buy because it is convenient today. It is a ship you buy because you want future gameplay around science, medical services, agriculture, observation, and large-scale support.

Players who want current medical gameplay should choose the C8R, Cutlass Red, Terrapin Medic, or Apollo. Players who want true exploration should choose the Carrack. Players who want modular support sooner may prefer the Galaxy. But for players who want the broadest science-platform concept in Star Citizen, the Endeavor remains one of the more important long-term MISC ships.

Endeavor FAQ

Is the Endeavor worth buying in Star Citizen?

The Endeavor is worth buying if you want a long-term modular science platform for medical, research, farming, telescope, or organization-support gameplay. It is not ideal for players who need a current Flight Ready daily ship.

Is the Endeavor Flight Ready?

No. The Endeavor should be treated as Concept / In Development, not Flight Ready. RSI’s current Loaner Ship Matrix lists it with loaners because it is not available in the PU as a finished ship.

What is the main role of the Endeavor?

The Endeavor’s main role is heavy science and modular support. Official RSI material describes it as a fully modular space platform for scientific and medical tasks, including spatial telescopy and mobile hospital use.

How big is the Endeavor?

Official Endeavor concept material lists the ship at 200m length, 48m beam, and 20m height, with a capital-size classification.

How much cargo does the Endeavor have?

Official technical reference lists the Endeavor with 500 SCU cargo capacity. RSI’s Q&A explains that this cargo is inside the Explorer cab, which is the section intended to break off and land for deliveries.

How many crew does the Endeavor need?

Official technical reference lists 3 minimum crew and 5 maximum crew. While RSI’s Q&A says large ships are generally flyable by one human player, it also explains that the Endeavor works much better with crew handling science, medical, or other operations while someone flies.

What loaners does the Endeavor have?

RSI’s current Loaner Ship Matrix lists the Starfarer and Cutlass Red as Endeavor loaners. Loaners are temporary and are removed or changed when the purchased ship becomes Flight Ready or when the matrix is updated.

Can the Endeavor be used solo?

The Endeavor may be movable solo, but it should not be described as solo-efficient. RSI’s Q&A says solo use creates clear disadvantages because science, medical, and support work benefit from crew activity.

Is the Endeavor better than the Carrack?

The Carrack is better as a true deep exploration ship. RSI’s Q&A explains that the Carrack is a dedicated explorer built for long-duration journeys, while the Endeavor’s Explorer cab is more of an add-on and lacks the same range, powerplant, and dedicated exploration systems.

Is the Endeavor better than the Galaxy?

The Endeavor is larger and broader as a science and support platform. The Galaxy is smaller and more practical as a modular support ship. Choose the Galaxy for a more focused modular ship. Choose the Endeavor for long-term science, hospital, farming, and research gameplay.

Should I choose the Endeavor or Galaxy?

Choose the RSI Galaxy if you want a smaller, more manageable modular support ship with a clearer near-term role and simpler operation. Choose the MISC Endeavor if you want a larger long-term science platform with broader module potential, including hospital, farming, research, telescope, landing bay, fuel, and crew-support concepts. The Galaxy is the better practical modular ship, while the Endeavor is the broader future science and support platform.

Can the Endeavor work as a hospital?

Yes, with the Medical Bay and Landing Bay configuration. RSI describes the Medical Bay as a hospital-style pod with operating theaters and recovery rooms, and the Hope-class setup includes Medical Bay plus Landing Bay.

Can the Endeavor be used for farming?

Yes, in concept. The Biodome Pods are designed for agriculture operations, and RSI’s Q&A describes farming as a viable profession where mobile farms may grow crops while traveling toward markets.

Can the Endeavor carry ships?

With the Landing Bay module, the Endeavor can support small craft that fit within the bay’s limits. RSI clarified that the Landing Bay is intended to safely store, transport, launch, and refit up to four ships that fit inside the available volume.

Does the Endeavor have a jump-capable detachable cab?

No. RSI’s Q&A says the Explorer cab does not have an aftermarket jump drive slot, because its design space is used for armor and shielding rather than full independent jump capability.

Does the Endeavor have good long-term value?

Yes, the Endeavor has useful long-term value for players who want modular science, medical, research, agriculture, and organization-support gameplay. Its biggest limitation is timing: it is still in development, and its full value depends on future profession systems.
