How to Apply a CCU (Ship Upgrade)

If you purchased a Cross Chassis Upgrade (CCU) to transform one ship into another, follow these steps:

  1. Claim the Item: Follow the delivery steps above to add the CCU to your RSI Hangar.
  2. Locate in Hangar: Go to the "My Hangar" section on the RSI website.
  3. Apply Upgrade: Click on the arrow next to your CCU to expand the details. Click the "Apply Upgrade" button. Select the "Source Ship" you wish to upgrade and enter your RSI password to finalize the process.

Important Note: The insurance (e.g., LTI) and other bonuses from the original base ship will carry over to the new ship.

Upgrading from a lower-value ship to a higher-value ship may require multiple CCUs.
For example: If you purchase an upgrade from a Merchantman to a Polaris, we will send you two CCUs—one from Merchantman to Hammerhead, and another from Hammerhead to Polaris. The larger the price gap of the upgrade, the greater the number of CCUs you will receive.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does delivery usually take?

  • Star Citizen ship, ccu, paints, items orders are usually delivered within 20–30 minutes. In rare cases, delivery may take up to 12 hours due to order volume, RSI gifting limits, account status, or manual verification requirements.
  • In most cases, we do not allow ship deliveries to exceed 12 hours unless there is an exceptional issue such as RSI system limitations, account restrictions, or required customer verification.

Is my ship order protected?

  • Yes. Security and reliability are our top priorities. All ships sold by LTI Hangar come from our own inventory, with no external sellers or unknown third-party suppliers involved.
  • Each ship order is handled with clear delivery records, allowing the delivery process to be reviewed and traced if support is ever needed. We also provide 6-month after-sale protection for eligible delivery-related issues.
  • This level of own-stock control, traceable delivery, and after-sale protection is not commonly offered by many third-party marketplaces, which is why many customers choose LTI Hangar for safer Star Citizen ship purchases.

What is the 6-month after-sale protection? Why Other Marketplaces Cannot Offer This?

  • In the extremely rare event that an issue occurs with an item during delivery or within up to 6 months after delivery has been completed, we will conduct an investigation. If it is determined that the issue was caused by our fault, we will provide either a replacement or a refund.
  • To help us review the case accurately, you may be required to assist us by providing relevant evidence, such as RSI Hangar screenshots, order details, and RSI Hangar Log records.
  • The RSI Hangar Log can help track the status and history of each ship, including whether the item was claimed, exchanged, melted, transferred, or otherwise changed after delivery. We will review the evidence you provide to determine the cause of the issue.
  • This level of protection is not commonly offered by many third-party marketplaces because they often rely on external sellers or mixed inventory sources. At LTI Hangar, all ships come from our own inventory, and each order has clear delivery records, allowing us to provide safer and more reliable support.

Can I request a refund after claiming the ship, ccu, paints, items?

  • Once the RSI gift has been claimed, the ship, ccu, paints, items becomes bound to the receiving RSI account. Due to the limitations of the Star Citizen gifting system, a claimed ship normally cannot be gifted again, returned, reversed, or re-delivered. For this reason, claimed items are normally not eligible for cancellation or refund.
  • A correction, replacement, or refund may only be provided if we confirm that the issue was caused by our side, such as a wrong item being sent, an order delivery error, or another verified delivery issue caused by us.
  • Before claiming the RSI gift, please make sure you are logged into the correct RSI account. Once the gift is claimed to the wrong account, it normally cannot be moved to another account.

What happens if the wrong ship, ccu, paints, items is delivered?

If we confirm that the wrong item was delivered due to our error, we will review the case and provide a correction, replacement, or refund where applicable. Please contact us with your order number, checkout email, and clear screenshots of your RSI Hangar.

Why are the names of the Star Citizen ships I received different?

Standalone CCU'ed is a complete ship or vehicle. It is not an upgrade! CCU'ed simply means that it was created by upgrading a smaller ship or vehicle to the one you are buying. Please also note that in the gift email, only the ship that was used as the base for upgrading will be named. Please don't worry, the actual ship you will see in your hangar will be the one you've ordered.

For example, this is how a CCU'ed Polaris looks like in hangar on RSI website.

Origin 600i Explorer Standalone Ship Gameplay Guide

The Origin 600i Explorer is a luxury expedition ship built for Star Citizen players who want long-range exploration, premium comfort, strong solo-friendly handling for its size, and a stylish alternative to more utilitarian exploration ships. Designed by Origin Jumpworks, the 600i Explorer is not a military pathfinder like the Carrack and not a compact explorer like the 400i. It is a high-end private expedition vessel made for players who want to explore the verse without giving up luxury, visibility, and personal ship identity.

Unlike the Carrack, which feels like a dedicated survey vessel for a full expedition crew, the 600i Explorer feels more like a private luxury explorer. It gives players scanning stations, rover support, comfortable living space, strong pilot weapons, and a refined Origin interior. For solo players or small crews who want a large explorer without the heavier operational feel of the Carrack, the 600i Explorer remains one of the more appealing ships in Star Citizen.

Build Your Luxury Exploration Fleet with the 600i Explorer

The 600i Explorer remains a recognizable luxury exploration ship in Star Citizen. If you are looking to acquire this Origin expedition ship, you can explore our available options in the Star Citizen Ships and Vehicles Collection.

600i Explorer Key Specifications

The 600i Explorer combines Origin’s luxury design with exploration utility. Its specifications show why it is valued not as a pure cargo ship or heavy combat vessel, but as a premium small-crew explorer with practical long-range gameplay potential.

Specification Origin 600i Explorer Gameplay Meaning
Manufacturer Origin Jumpworks Premium manufacturer known for luxury, clean design, and high-end personal ships.
Role Luxury Expedition / Exploration Ship Built for long-range travel, scanning, ground exploration, and private expedition gameplay.
Status Flight Ready Available as a playable ship, while future updates may still change layout, balance, and feature expectations.
Crew Style Small-Crew / Solo-Friendly for Size Official Q&A describes the 600i as fundamentally multi-crew, but also one of the more solo-friendly ships of its size.
Dimensions Large Origin luxury ship Large enough to feel like a true luxury yacht, but smaller and easier to manage than a Carrack.
Exploration Module Two manned scanning stations Gives the Explorer variant a dedicated scanning and exploration identity.
Ground Utility Deployable ramp for an Origin Rover Supports surface exploration, bunker access, planetary travel, and luxury expedition roleplay.
Cargo / Storage Exploration storage space Useful for supplies, artifacts, mission items, and expedition equipment rather than bulk trading.
Defensive Layout Pilot weapons, missiles, and remote turret coverage Better armed than many players expect from a luxury explorer, but still not a dedicated warship.

Note: Star Citizen ship specifications may change during future patches and balance updates. The 600i Explorer is Flight Ready, but current live features and future layout expectations should always be described carefully.

What Makes the 600i Explorer Valuable?

The 600i Explorer is valuable because it gives players a rare combination: luxury, exploration utility, strong personal ownership appeal, and easier operation than many large expedition ships. It does not try to be the biggest explorer or the most practical fleet base. Instead, it gives players a stylish, comfortable, high-end ship that can still support real exploration gameplay.

Its main appeal is the small-crew luxury explorer identity. The Carrack is excellent for full expedition crews, but it can feel large and operationally heavy. The 600i Explorer feels more personal. It is the kind of ship a player can use as a private flagship, a long-range home, or a luxury expedition platform without needing a full organization online.

The ship also has clear player-facing value because of its Origin design. The wide bridge visibility, clean interior style, premium materials, and private-yacht feeling make it more personal than a purely industrial ship. For many players, the 600i Explorer is not only about efficiency. It is about enjoying the journey.

Luxury Exploration Gameplay Role

In exploration gameplay, the 600i Explorer performs best as a private expedition ship. It is suited for players who want to travel, scan, land on planets, deploy a rover, and explore in style. It is not as feature-heavy as the Carrack, but it is more elegant, more personal, and easier to imagine using with a small crew.

The Explorer module gives the ship two manned scanning stations, a deployable ramp for a ground vehicle, an included Origin Rover, and storage space for discoveries or expedition items. That makes it more than just the Touring version with different branding. It has a real exploration module designed around surface and long-range gameplay.

This makes the 600i Explorer especially attractive for players who enjoy slower, immersive gameplay: landing on planets, driving a rover out of the ship, taking screenshots, scanning points of interest, and using one elegant ship as a personal base.

Solo and Small-Crew Experience

One of the biggest reasons players like the 600i Explorer is that it feels more manageable than many large ships. It is still a multi-crew ship, but official Q&A describes it as one of the more solo-friendly ships of its size, thanks to unmanned remote turrets and capable shields.

A practical 600i Explorer session usually feels closer to a private expedition than a full fleet operation. One player can handle flying, landing, and general travel, while a second player can help with scanning, rover deployment, turret coverage, or mission planning. In normal use, the ship works best when the owner wants a comfortable base for slower exploration, surface visits, screenshots, and small-group missions rather than a fully staffed exploration operation like a Carrack.

This does not mean the 600i is a perfect solo ship. A solo player will not use every system at full efficiency. Scanning stations, turrets, engineering, and future exploration systems will all benefit from crew support. But compared with ships like the Carrack, Hammerhead, Polaris, or Perseus, the 600i Explorer feels much easier for one owner or a small group to enjoy regularly.

For players who want a large ship but do not always have five or six friends online, this matters. The 600i Explorer can work as a personal flagship, a luxury daily explorer, or a small-group mission ship without feeling as demanding as heavier fleet vessels.

Ground Exploration and Rover Utility

The 600i Explorer’s rover support is one of its most important practical features. The Explorer module includes a deployable ramp for an exploratory ground vehicle, and official Q&A confirms that upgrading to the 600i Explorer Edition grants the included Rover.

This gives the ship stronger surface gameplay than a pure luxury touring vessel. A player can land near a point of interest, deploy the rover, scout terrain, reach bunker entrances, or use the vehicle for planetary travel. It also makes the ship feel more complete as an expedition vessel.

The rover utility is especially useful for players who enjoy planet-side gameplay. The 600i Explorer is not just a ship you fly from station to station. It can become a base for landing, driving, exploring, looting, and returning to comfort afterward.

Combat and Defensive Value

The 600i Explorer is not a dedicated combat ship, but it has better defensive value than many luxury ships. Its pilot weapons give the owner meaningful firepower, while remote turrets and missiles add extra coverage when crew members are available.

This makes the 600i Explorer comfortable for general gameplay, but it should not be oversold as a warship. Against smaller threats, it can defend itself well when flown carefully. Against dedicated combat ships or coordinated attackers, it still needs smart positioning, shields, and sometimes escort support.

The best way to describe its combat role is simple: the 600i Explorer can protect itself better than many explorers, but its main value is still luxury exploration, not frontline fighting.

Important Medical Bay Note

For product-page accuracy, the 600i Explorer should not currently be sold as having a live medical bay. The original official Q&A specifically answered that the 600i did not have a medical area.

There has been long-running player discussion around future 600i interior changes, but until any updated version is live and confirmed in the current build, the safest page wording is: “The 600i Explorer is Flight Ready, but current live features should be checked before purchase.” This avoids customer confusion and keeps the product page more trustworthy.

600i Explorer vs Other Star Citizen Ships

The 600i Explorer occupies a unique position among large Star Citizen ships. It is more luxurious than the Carrack, more exploration-focused than the Phoenix, larger than the 400i, and easier to imagine using with a small crew than many expedition vessels.

Ship Fleet Option Primary Core Role Compared with 600i Explorer
Carrack Long-Range Pathfinder / Expedition Ship The Carrack is stronger as a full expedition base with deeper crew support. The 600i Explorer is more luxurious, more personal, and easier for small crews.
Odyssey Self-Sufficient Expedition Ship The Odyssey focuses on long-range self-sufficiency, mining, and fuel-support systems. The 600i Explorer is more luxury-focused and already Flight Ready.
400i Luxury Touring / Light Exploration The 400i is smaller, faster-feeling, and easier for daily use. The 600i Explorer is larger, more premium, and better suited as a luxury flagship.
Constellation Aquila Exploration / Multi-Role Connie The Aquila is more utilitarian and practical. The 600i Explorer offers a much more premium Origin experience.
Constellation Phoenix Luxury Touring / VIP Transport The Phoenix is a luxury multi-role ship with VIP identity. The 600i Explorer is larger, more exploration-focused, and more yacht-like.
Corsair Exploration Gunship The Corsair is stronger for aggressive firepower and rough utility. The 600i Explorer is more refined, more comfortable, and better for luxury exploration.
890 Jump Capital Luxury Yacht The 890 Jump is far larger and more prestigious, but also much harder to operate. The 600i Explorer gives luxury ownership at a more manageable scale.

600i Explorer vs Carrack

The Carrack is the stronger full expedition platform, with a more dedicated pathfinder identity and better support for larger crews. The 600i Explorer is more luxurious, more personal, and easier to enjoy with one or two players. If you want a serious group exploration base, the Carrack is the better fit. If you want a luxury explorer that feels manageable and private, the 600i Explorer has the clearer appeal.

600i Explorer vs 400i

The 400i is smaller, easier to handle, and better for players who want a luxury daily explorer. The 600i Explorer is larger, more premium, better armed, and more suitable as a private flagship. If you want a compact Origin explorer, the 400i makes sense. If you want a larger luxury expedition ship with stronger presence, the 600i Explorer is the better upgrade.

600i Explorer vs Constellation Aquila

The Constellation Aquila is more practical and utilitarian, with a classic multi-role exploration identity. The 600i Explorer is more premium, more comfortable, and more focused on luxury exploration. If you want practical RSI utility, the Aquila is easier to justify. If you want Origin style, comfort, and small-crew luxury exploration, the 600i Explorer has the stronger identity.

600i Explorer Strengths and Limitations

Strategic Strengths Operational Limitations
Luxury explorer identity makes the 600i feel premium and personal. Not as complete as the Carrack for full expedition-base gameplay.
Flight Ready status makes it usable now, unlike many concept explorers. Future updates may change layout, balance, or feature expectations.
More solo-friendly than many large ships of similar size. Still benefits heavily from crew for scanning, turrets, and future systems.
Explorer module adds scanning stations, rover support, and expedition storage. Current live version should not be advertised as having a medical bay.
Useful pilot-facing weapons make it more confident than many luxury ships. Not a dedicated combat ship and should not replace a gunship.
Origin design gives it strong style, visibility, and ownership appeal. Cargo utility is limited compared with true freight ships.

Who Should Buy the 600i Explorer?

The 600i Explorer is best for players who want a luxury exploration ship that feels personal, stylish, and manageable. It is especially suitable for solo owners, small crews, Origin collectors, exploration players, screenshot-focused players, and anyone who wants a premium private yacht with real expedition utility.

It is also a useful choice for players who like the Carrack but do not want something that feels as crew-heavy or utilitarian. The Carrack is still the stronger full exploration platform, but the 600i Explorer is often more appealing to players who value comfort, design, visibility, and small-crew flexibility.

Players who mainly want maximum cargo profit should look at ships like the C2, Hull C, or Ironclad. Players who want full organization exploration may prefer the Carrack or Odyssey. But for players who want a beautiful luxury explorer that can be enjoyed more casually, the 600i Explorer remains one of the more appealing choices in Star Citizen.

600i Explorer FAQ

Is the 600i Explorer worth buying in Star Citizen?

The 600i Explorer is worth buying if you want a luxury exploration ship with small-crew flexibility, strong personal ownership appeal, rover support, and a premium Origin design. It is not the most efficient cargo ship or the most complete expedition platform, but it offers an attractive balance of style, exploration utility, and usability.

Is the 600i Explorer Flight Ready?

Yes. The 600i Explorer is Flight Ready and available as a playable ship. Because Star Citizen ships continue to receive balance and feature updates, current live features should still be checked before purchase.

What is the main role of the 600i Explorer?

The 600i Explorer’s main role is luxury expedition gameplay. It is designed for long-range travel, scanning, surface exploration, and private exploration missions. It is not a pure combat ship, pure cargo hauler, or full capital expedition base.

Can the 600i Explorer be used solo?

Yes, the 600i Explorer is one of the more solo-friendly large ships, but it is still fundamentally a multi-crew ship. Official Q&A says a skilled pilot should be able to pilot the 600i effectively solo in most regards, while crew support still improves turret coverage, scanning, and ship operations.

What makes the 600i Explorer different from the Carrack?

The Carrack is a more complete long-term exploration base with stronger expedition infrastructure. The 600i Explorer is more luxurious, more personal, and easier for small crews or solo owners to enjoy. Choose the Carrack for full exploration operations. Choose the 600i Explorer for luxury exploration and manageable ownership.

Should I choose the 600i Explorer or Carrack?

Choose the Carrack if you want a more complete expedition platform for larger crews, pathfinding, medical support, support craft, and long-range group operations. Choose the 600i Explorer if you want a more luxurious, more personal exploration ship that is easier to enjoy with one or two players. The Carrack is the better group explorer, while the 600i Explorer is the better luxury small-crew explorer.

Is the 600i Explorer better than the 400i?

The 600i Explorer is larger, more powerful, and more premium than the 400i. The 400i is easier to use as a daily luxury ship and feels more compact. If you want a smaller luxury explorer, the 400i is better. If you want a true luxury flagship, the 600i Explorer is the stronger choice.

Does the 600i Explorer include a rover?

Yes. Official Q&A confirms that upgrading to the 600i Explorer Edition grants the included Rover, and the exploration module is designed with a deployable ramp for an exploratory ground vehicle.

Does the 600i Explorer have a medical bay?

No, the current safe product-page wording should not claim that the 600i Explorer has a live medical bay. The official 600i Q&A stated that the 600i did not have a medical area. If a future live update changes this, the page can be updated at that time.

Is the 600i Explorer good for combat?

The 600i Explorer can defend itself well for a luxury explorer, especially with its pilot weapons and remote turret support. However, it should not be treated as a dedicated combat ship. It is better for defensive confidence during exploration than for frontline combat.

Is the 600i Explorer good for cargo?

The 600i Explorer has expedition storage, but it is not a cargo ship. Its storage is better understood as space for supplies, discoveries, mission items, and exploration equipment. Players focused on profit hauling should consider cargo ships like the Taurus, C2, Hull C, or Ironclad.

Does the 600i Explorer have good long-term value?

Yes, the 600i Explorer has useful long-term value for players who want luxury exploration, small-crew usability, and a premium Origin flagship. Its role is clear: stylish exploration with enough utility to feel useful and enough luxury to feel special.
