Star Citizen Alpha 4.10.1 Is Live: Orison Relief Support, New Ships & Rewards

Star Citizen Alpha 4.10.1 officially launched on September 16, 2026, bringing the Orison Relief Support event to LIVE servers alongside new vehicles, equipment rewards, and gameplay improvements.

Cloud Imperium Games completed the LIVE deployment at 18:15 UTC following an extended maintenance window. The update is now available through the RSI Launcher.

The main addition is Orison Relief Support, a new event that asks players to help Crusader Industries recover from the Nine Tails attack. It combines cargo hauling, resource gathering, crafting, and combat under a single progression system.

The update also introduces the Aegis Sabre Raven EX and Argo ATLS IKTI Akuma, alongside changes to ground-vehicle damage and several existing gameplay systems.

Orison Relief Support Is Now Available on LIVE

Orison Relief Support takes place in the aftermath of the Nine Tails assault on Crusader's floating city.

With damaged infrastructure to repair and security threats still present, Crusader Industries is recruiting players to deliver essential supplies, manufacture equipment, and eliminate hostile forces.

Rather than requiring everyone to complete the same combat mission, the event offers several ways to participate.

Players can accept contracts from four organizations, each responsible for a different part of the recovery operation.

Cornerstone Developments handles construction and reconstruction. Its contracts involve gathering resources and transporting materials to Orison and Seraphim Station. The organization also offers crafting assignments involving the TH-01 Propulsor.

Covalex and Ling coordinate medical deliveries, sending players to collect supplies and iodine from locations around New Babbage and Port Tressler before transporting them to the Crusader area.

For combat-focused players, Foxwell offers security contracts involving hostile spacecraft and remaining Nine Tails forces.

These include ship ambushes, battles against multiple waves of enemies, and FPS missions at hostile outposts.

The range of contracts allows cargo pilots, crafters, and combat crews to participate in the same event without having to switch to an entirely different style of gameplay.

Six SecondWind Rewards Can Be Earned

One of the biggest changes since Orison Relief Support first appeared on the PTU concerns its rewards.

The original reward track offered crafting blueprints. Following player feedback, CIG removed those blueprints and replaced them with finished equipment granted directly to participating accounts.

The requirements for completing the event were also reduced before the LIVE release.

Players now progress through six reward tiers, unlocking a new piece of SecondWind equipment at each milestone.

Reward tier Equipment
1 S-38 SecondWind Pistol
2 FBL-8a SecondWind Light Armor
3 P4-AR SecondWind Rifle
4 ORC-mkX SecondWind Medium Armor
5 Lumin V SecondWind SMG
6 ADP-mk4 SecondWind Heavy Armor

Progress is tracked individually, with rewards granted directly to the player's account when the corresponding threshold is reached.

This means players receive the actual equipment rather than needing to gather materials and manufacture each reward themselves.

There is one detail worth remembering for groups: contract progress points are divided among party members when a mission is completed together.

Players who prefer hauling can focus on supply contracts, while those interested in combat can work through Foxwell's missions.

Aegis Sabre Raven EX Joins the Fleet

Alpha 4.10.1 also introduces the Aegis Sabre Raven EX, a new single-seat fighter combining the original Sabre's combat capabilities with the Raven's distinctive design.

Its defining feature is a Quantum Dampener.

Unlike a Quantum Snare, which can pull ships out of quantum travel, a Quantum Dampener prevents nearby ships from entering quantum travel in the first place.

That gives the Raven EX a clear role in interception and pursuit.

The fighter carries four Size 3 weapon hardpoints, matching the standard Sabre's primary weapon configuration.

According to CIG's vehicle team, the Raven EX sits between the original Sabre and Sabre Raven in performance.

It offers greater speed than the standard Sabre and more armor than the original Raven, although it does not match the Sabre's agility or the Raven's stealth capabilities.

The original Sabre Raven remains a separate ship with its own equipment and role. The Raven EX is not a replacement for it.

Argo ATLS IKTI Akuma Introduced

The second new vehicle is the Argo ATLS IKTI Akuma, a Nine Tails-inspired variant of the ATLS GEO IKTI power suit.

The Akuma features a distinctive outlaw-themed appearance, but its differences extend beyond cosmetics.

Its mounted weapons have been modified into plasma repeaters capable of dealing splash damage.

The jump pack has also been adjusted, trading some vertical jump height for increased travel distance and fuel capacity.

This makes the Akuma a different option from the standard IKTI, which remains available through in-game progression.

CIG has also confirmed that the Akuma supports existing ATLS paints, while its unique Nine Tails livery remains exclusive to this variant.

Ground Vehicles Now Support Soft Death

One of the more practical gameplay changes in Alpha 4.10.1 is the introduction of Soft Death for ground vehicles.

Previously, a ground vehicle could transition directly from an operational state to destruction.

With the new system, ground vehicles can become disabled instead of being immediately destroyed.

A vehicle entering Soft Death becomes inactive, bringing ground-vehicle damage behavior closer to the system already used by spacecraft.

This change has implications for ground combat and vehicle recovery, particularly when players are operating in dangerous environments.

It also creates additional possibilities for encounters where disabling a vehicle is more useful than destroying it outright.

Additional Gameplay Improvements

Beyond the event and new vehicles, Alpha 4.10.1 includes several smaller changes.

Creature and plant resources now have graded quality levels, giving players another factor to consider when harvesting materials for sale or crafting.

Weapon attachment availability has also been expanded. Barrel compensators and stabilizers can now appear in the general loot pool.

Cargo distribution has received attention as well, with improvements to how hauling contracts divide freight between multiple pickup locations.

The update also includes additional audio work, including changes to the Aegis Sabre series and new sounds for AMRS laser cannons.

These adjustments accompany the technical and bug-fixing work carried out throughout the Alpha 4.10.1 PTU testing period.

What Players Should Do First

For players returning after Alpha 4.10, Orison Relief Support is the main new activity to explore.

The event provides an opportunity to earn six SecondWind equipment rewards while contributing through several different professions.

Players interested in the new vehicles can also explore the Sabre Raven EX and ATLS IKTI Akuma, both of which introduce different capabilities to their respective vehicle families.

With Alpha 4.10.1 now on LIVE, attention will turn to how the update performs in the wider Persistent Universe and what CIG prepares for the next stage of the Alpha 4.10.x cycle.
